Background:
My visions of a perfect morning can never be complete without a steaming tumbler of coffee resting on a steel dabara. Growing up my mom used to brew it in a way that has now become my standard to emulate. 100% peaberry, no chicory, medium roast and brewed using a regular stainless steel filter.
Stuff you will need:
Columbian coffee medium roast - 3 scoops
Indian style press filter
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup milk
How to make it?
Spoon the coffee powder into the filter and press it down well. Heat water to a rolling boil. Slowly pour the water in a circular motion till the filter is full. The water percolates through the packed powder and filters into the bottom chamber in a thick delicious brew.
Heat half a cup of milk till it almost boils over, add sugar and a generous measure of the brew into it. Stir it in and soak up the morning with the kaapi in hand.

Special Notes:
This is an ode to my Appa.
