Generation Past

You know you are a generation past when

Thoughts and images of college days and beyond appear sepia toned in your mind

Testimonials on Orkut make you go “What are they thinking??”

You don’t wonder if you should get your hair “colored”. You think when next to do it.

You realize you have three nieces and a nephew

Your have a wedding video and not a DVD

You have trouble remembering when you started wearing glasses

Passage of time seems to have little meaning

You start thinking about retirement

You clean your closet and find that lilac colored teddy bear you refused to leave behind when you moved from your parents’ home and wonder what on earth possessed you to hang on to it

You look through your greeting card collection and wonder where all those tons of love and kisses went

All those rose colored heart shaped cute little books you saved make you gag

All you have is one good pair of shoes and one good sandals to pull you through the year

You sit and reminiscence about all these things!

you nailed it… Really awesome post! It was nice to read and relate to it too:)

  2. @JS: Glad you enjoyed it. These are the thoughts that keep humming in my mind as I go about stuff in the morning :)

  3. Totally relate to it Laksh. I also have my share of greeting cards from the past. Each and everytime I sit down to clean, I think it’s time to throw it away, but I’m not able to. I see those cards once every year, and forget about it. Every time I think I will throw it away the next time I clean, but years have passed and it’s still lying in the Kumaran Textiles cover.

  4. @Madhu: I totally missed this comment of yours. I smiled as I read the Kumaran Textiles cover part. I have mine in one too!
