Happy Birthday Daddy Dears!!!

One of things I always felt happy about was that both my dad and K’s shared their b’day. Early on in our marriage, we made it a tradition of waking them up early over the phone and singing a birthday song for them. I mean both K and I together. It sounds cheesy I know. It is. But we love our little tradition. So, today around the time my FIL usually wakes, we called and waited for his sleepy “hellooo”. As soon as we broke out into the song we could picture him smiling and crying with happiness. We ached to be with him. To share the memories and the special day.

Long after the phone returned to its cradle I was thinking of how it would be like to look back on life at his age and revisit the good and bad times. To me birthdays are truly special. One day that stands as a personal new year. To look back on the year past and look forward to the year ahead. Of course it is hard not to remember my dad who if alive would have been another year older. Have had more wrinkles in his face. Would have seen and played with his only granddaughter. Would have had six children wish him well. It aches me that it is not to be.

So, Happy Birthday Daddy Dears! May all the health and happiness in the world be yours!!!

Happy Birthday from us too Laks! Is their birthday on the 22nd? or 23rd? Today was appa’s and R’s birthday. Last year R was here with me, we had celebrated it together. It is also one year since kutty’s annaprashanam and we had met you guys for the first time after Nandu Happy memories To celebrate this happy occasion, I have finally started putting snaps into that album that you gave

@Laks: Thanks da. Nice to know your dad and Ra share their bdays too. Belated wishes to the two of them. My dad and my FIL’s bday is today.
